Winter Vacation Extension in UP
Mr. Adityanath Yogi on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh Government’s Educational Department has decided to extend the winter vacation of all government and private schools by 15 days, starting from 31st December to 14th January, 2024 due to the current cold wave, nonstop decrease in temperature and no visibility on road due to heavy fog that is affecting North India. This Winter Vacation Extension in UP decision is based on the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) prediction that weather change will continue for the next week.
Class 1 to 8 New School Timings 2024
Due to severe weather and extremely chilly temperatures, the DM of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, has issued the Class 1 to 8 New School Timings 2024. In accordance with this, all Ghaziabad schools will open at 10 a.m. and close at 2 p.m. All government and private schools in Aligarh will be closed on December 29 and 30, 2023, according to the district minister. The Mathura school day runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. From December 31, 2023, until January 14, 2024, the schools will be closed.

- Lucknow: Due to the cold wave, all Lucknow district schools have rescheduled their hours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In a letter, Surya Pal Gangwar, the district magistrate of Lucknow, mandated that schools open from December 21 to December 31, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Schools are to follow the directive to the letter, as instructed by the DM Lucknow.
